Representing the SCC, Jason Luther finished 4th in his Sport Men 35-39 category in the very wet Hanson Hills Challenge near Grayling, Michigan on June 6th. Following on the heels of Jason's 3rd place finish at the West Branch Classic road race two weeks ago, these mountain bike results prove once again he is no one trick pony -- J's got singletrack savvy!
SCC member Jan Roubal also had an excellent performance at the Hanson Hills Challenge, finishing 8th in the men's elite field, racing against some of Michigan's best mountain bikers. Good work Jan!
SCC members Ian Dunlop and Pat Barrett traveled to Ohio and braved insane & dangerous weather to compete in the Mohican National Ultra Endurance Event on the weekend, with Ian in the 100-mile race and Pat in the 100-km version. Both Ian and Pat had astounding performances. Ian finished 18th in the men's open field, which saw only about 1/2 of the 200 riders able to finish the punishing course. Pat finished 10th in the 100-km singlespeed category. That's right, 100 km in one gear.
What grit and talent all these guys have!
